Text: Governo sobe para 1,1% IOF para compra de dólar em espécie
Segundo Ministério da Fazenda, medida vale a partir desta terça-feira.
Expectativa do governo de alta anual da arrecadação é de R$ 2,37 bilhões

Comprar dólar e outras moedas estrangeiras em espécie nos bancos e corretoras terá uma tributação maior. Um decreto presidencial eleva de 0,38% para 1,1% a alíquota do Imposto Sobre Operações Financeiras (IOF) cobrado na aquisição das moedas.

Para compras pequenas de moeda, como as feitas por turistas, o peso do imposto não chega a ser proibitivo: ao comprar, hoje, R$ 5 mil em dólares, por exemplo, o brasileiro paga outros R$ 19 em IOF. Com a alta da alíquota, esse valor passa a R$ 50,50.

Alíquotas do IOF
No fim de 2013, o governo anunciou que o IOF incidente nos pagamentos em moeda estrangeira feitas com cartão de débito, saques em moeda estrangeira no exterior, compras de cheques de viagem (traveller checks) e carregamento de cartões pré-pagos com moeda estrangeira ficaram sujeitos a uma alíquota de 6,38% - que já valia para cartões de crédito desde março de 2011.
A única modalidade que havia permanecido com uma alíquota do IOF reduzida, de 0,38%, havia sido justamente a compra de dólar em espécie - que está sendo elevada para 1,1% a partir desta terça-feira (3).

Mombelli, da Receita Federal, informou ainda que o aumento do IOF para compra de moeda estrangeira tende a alinhar tributação do IOF, ou a diminuir a diferença de alíquotas, "em relação a outros instrumentos equivalentes nessas operações, que são cartão de crédito, débito, ou pré-pago" - cuja tributação é de 6,38%.

No começo deste ano, o governo elevou o Imposto de Renda (IR) sobre remessas ao exterior de zero para 25% para o pagamento de serviços para gastos pessoais, o que encareceu pacotes de turismo comprados em agências de viagens. Posteriormente, no começo de março, baixou a alíquota para 6%. Segue isenta a cobrança para despesas com educação, saúde e fins científicos.
Gastos no exterior em queda
