Segundo Delcídio, o deputado Tiririca teria sido convidado a fazer parte dos deputados que teriam como missão barrar a CPI da Petrobrás. Foi oferecido R$ 500 mil para ele votar contra a instauração da Comissão Parlamentar de Inquérito que investigaria o escândalo da estatal. Ele imediatamente teria se alterado e ameaçado bater no operador do petrolão que já estava com a mala de dinheiro para suborna-lo. O operador foi expulso com empurrões e xingamentos.

Não entrei pra política atrás de dinheiro. Já passei fome na época do circo. Fiz sucesso e ganhei muito dinheiro. Perdi todo meu dinheiro e todo meu sucesso. Voltei pro circo sem nenhum constrangimento porque lá é minha casa. Me reergui graças ao povo e ao Tom Cavalcante. Mesmo na miséria não roubei dinheiro de ninguém.
