Quem é João Doria, o novo prefeito de São Paulo

João Doria começa falando de futebol. Durante um compromisso de campanha no Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos de São Paulo, diz que joga uma "pelada" toda semana. "Paulinho (da Força) é bom de bola", comenta, antes de alguém gritar um "mais ou menos, mais ou menos" seguido de risinhos.
O então candidato do PSDB - que neste domingo acabou eleito prefeito de São Paulo no primeiro turno, com 53% dos votos - deixa a mesa que divide com representantes da Força Sindical para contar sua história. De pé, em meio ao público, apresenta-se como filho de deputado federal cassado pelo golpe militar de 1964.

Com a oratória afiada pela experiência como apresentador de TV, Doria, que liderou as pesquisas de intenção de voto na reta final da campanha, arranca risos e sinais de aprovação dos sindicalistas.
Afirma que não é político, e sim gestor, que vai doar o salário e não quer reeleição. Por ter um bom patrimônio, diz, não precisa se envolver com corrupção. Fala em gerir a capital paulista com mais eficiência, como uma empresa, revendo a aplicação dos recursos para saúde e privatizando o Pacaembu e o Autódromo de Interlagos.

Apesar dos sinais de concordância, a postura de Doria não agrada a todos. Parte da plateia critica sua tentativa de se caracterizar como alheio à política.

"O cenário político tem muitos erros, mas devemos corrigir, não negar tudo. Não podemos achar que eliminar a política da história da humanidade vai resolver. Todos aqui somos agentes políticos", afirma Maria Nogueira, outra diretora do sindicato.

Três horas de sono
Entre um compromisso e outro, Doria aceitou conversar com a BBC Brasil por telefone enquanto se deslocava de carro pela capital paulista.
O empresário diz que dorme três horas por noite "há muitos anos" devido ao excesso de trabalho - o que também costuma citar no programa eleitoral.
"Não recomendo a ninguém, mas essa é a forma que utilizo para ser produtivo e muito determinado."
Disse ainda frequentar mercados da cidade, como os de Pinheiros e da Lapa, e descreve encontros com chefes de cozinha em busca de produtos orgânicos. "(Os mercados) têm vida e um coração pulsante muito interessante, que reflete o sentimento da cidade de São Paulo."
Three hours of sleeping
Between one commitment and another, Doria accepted talking with BBC Brazil by telephone while he changed of the car by the Paulist capital.
The entrepreneur says he sleeps three hours by night "for a lot of years" due to the excess of working - what he is used to citing electoral program.

Propostas
Entre suas propostas, João Doria promete manter e ampliar medidas de gestões anteriores, como o Centro de Educação Unificada (CEU). Por outro lado, destaca que irá revogar imediatamente a redução da velocidade máxima para veículos nas marginais, marca da gestão Fernando Haddad (PT).
"Vamos alterar a velocidade nas marginais na semana seguinte à posse. Vamos fazer o que o código de trânsito já prevê: vias expressas de 90km/h, 70km/h e 60km/h."
A ideia foi a mais aplaudida no ato de campanha no Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos, quando o empresário negou que haja relação entre velocidade e aumento de acidentes.
Questionado pela BBC Brasil sobre as 315 mortes a menos que o prefeito Fernando Haddad associa à medida, o candidato desconversa.
"Não haverá genocídio. Vamos fazer o que a prefeitura não fez: programas de educação de trânsito usando rádio, televisão, internet e escolas públicas para que as pessoas compreendam e respeitem as regras."
Proposes
